NEOM Project Summary: Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company will provide executive project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq. mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.”

It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. Position Summary:

Independently performs complex architectural assignments in various areas of NEOM project.

Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, application, adaptation and modification of advanced architectural techniques, procedures and criteria.

Devises new approaches to problems encountered.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Develops and interprets design criteria and specifications for most complex architectural infrastructure areas of NEOM project.
2. Performs most assignments independently with instructions as to the general results expected.
3. Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and recommends possible solutions.
4. Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements.
5. Prepares architectural reports for clients as required.
6. Develops and reviews project controls, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
7. Prepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.
8. Plans, coordinates or prepares equipment, material specifications, work scopes, and material requisitions, bid evaluations and award recommendations.
9. Coordinates architectural efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendors, contractors, construction and other functional groups.
10. Mentors and assists in on-the-job training of personnel.
11. Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

1. Technical knowledge of architectural concepts, techniques, materials and construction methods.
2. Working knowledge of planning and control methods.
3. Broad knowledge of precedents in a specialty area and of principles and practices of related engineering methods and systems.
4. Familiarity with construction practices and economics.
5. Knowledge of current industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to architectural work.
6. Skill in assessing the scope of problems and developing practical solutions.
7. Understanding of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design guides, and relevant Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
8. Good knowledge of 2-D and 3-D computer aided design tools.
9. Skill in English oral and written communication.
10. Arabic oral and written communication is a plus.

The above is normally acquired through:

• A license to practice architecture from a recognized licensing board, OR
• A recognized degree in architecture from an accredited college or university, OR
• A sufficient number of specialized courses in architectural design, planning, materials engineering, construction methods and related engineering equivalent to one of the above, AND
• Practical work experience to the extent necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above. This practical work experience must be primarily in architecture, but may be supplemented by relevant experience in related areas of the building industry.
